PostSubject: DCL New Ships are in production.   Wed Mar 11, 2009 11:33 am

DCL had the seal cutting last week for the 2 new ships. The seal cutting is to unwrap the scroll work for the ships. It means they are off the drawing boards. And in production.

The names have been announced.
2011 ship 1 - Disney Dream.
2012 ship 2 - Disney Fantasy.

Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany is building the ships. The first piece of steel cut for the new ships was p art of the art deco inspired scrollwork that will grace the bow of the ships. Similar to the scrollwork on the Disney Wonder & Disney Magic. The design details will be unveiled at a later date.

The Disney Magic primarily sails seven-night cruises to the eastern and western Caribbean and, beginning in the spring o f 2010, will embark on a season of limited itineraries exploring Northern Europe and the Mediterranean.
